About Sandy Springs Racquet Center and Groslimond Tennis Services

NAMED BY TENNIS MAGAZINE AS ONE OF THE FINEST PUBLIC FACILITIES IN THE COUNTRY

Since 2013, Groslimond Tennis Services, Inc. (GTS) has been managing and operating the Sandys Springs Racquet Center (SSRC) through a contractor agreement with the City of Sandy Springs. Gery Groslimond serves as the Facility Manager, while Jeff Groslimond is the Head Professional and Director of the Academy. The Groslimond family has a deep connection to SSRC, with Pam Groslimond having played ALTA at Sandy Springs for many years and sons Andrew and Jeff having competed in numerous junior USTA tournaments at the center. As long-time residents of Sandy Springs, the Groslimond family and GTS are dedicated to working with the City to transform SSRC into a premier tennis center in the South.

Thanks to their experience running a top tennis academy, the Groslimonds have brought world-class programming to SSRC, offering dynamic instruction for players of all ages and skill levels. SSRC is now the home base for the Tennis Academy of the South, with over 40 weekly program sessions catering to beginners and elite-level players alike.

Since Groslimond Tennis Services involvement in 2013, SSRC has undergone several upgrades and renovations, including the replacement of all court fencing ($100,000), resurfacing of 24 courts ($170,000), construction of a backboard half court ($8,000), upgrading of courtside tables and seating ($5,300), renovation of lobby furniture ($2,400), and significant repairs to the outdoor stadium stairs ($70,000). In 2019, a further $300,000 investment was made to overhaul the court lighting with new LED equipment and lights.

Gery and Jeff have also been active in giving back to the community, with outreach programs for over 15 charities and schools. They have provided 5 years of summer camp for underserved children and offer free or discounted fees to Special Pops, the ALTA Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the Sandy Springs Tennis Association, 5 local schools, and many other organizations.
